ABOUT
Undreamt Jars brings together drawing, print, storytelling and thoughtfully made objects, shaped by an interest in people, everyday details, overlooked places and the imagined.
The name Undreamt Jars was created to remain open to interpretation. It suggests ideas being brought out of dreams and into reality, with each work becoming a small vessel or capsule for an image, thought, place or story.
FROM DRAWING TO CLOTH
Undreamt Jars began with pencil and watercolour drawings inspired by natural forms and the structures found within the human body.
These drawings were developed into textile prints and placed inside a collection of limited-edition capes, designed and made in London using carefully selected natural materials.
THE CAPE ARCHIVE
The original capes now form the Undreamt Jars Cape Archive and remain available by enquiry.
Each cape brings together British wool, a printed lining and carefully considered details, carrying the early drawings into a wearable form.
DRAWING RETURNS
Drawing later returned to the foreground through a collection of fine art prints. Some capture familiar corners of London, from Soho and Westminster to the South Bank, while others revisit flowers, natural forms and anatomy.
Each work is reproduced in the UK as a fine art giclée print.
WHAT COMES NEXT
Undreamt Jars continues to evolve, extending into books, cards and new collections while retaining the same focus on drawing, materials, craftsmanship and stories that move between people, the everyday and the imagined.
